Pre-Spawn Update – Water Hit 58 Degrees Today

Water temp hit 58 degrees on my home lake this morning. Checked it first thing off the dock. That magic number where bass start thinking about moving shallow and actually committing to it.

Saw three fish cruising the bank before 7am. Threw a weightless Senko and hooked up on the second cast. Not a giant but a solid fish that fought like it had somewhere to be. Pre-spawn energy is real.

The Takeaway

Pre-spawn is officially here. If you’ve been sitting at home waiting for warmer weather or checking reports online, stop waiting. The fish are active and they’re hungry. Get out there before boat traffic picks up and the pressure increases. Early bird gets the bass right now.

Best bite window was 6:30 to 8:00am. Dead after that until the evening cool-down. Plan your mornings accordingly.
